Pickering's October After Dark Has Two Addresses, Up North and on the Water

October 8, 2026

The Pickering Ghost Walk moves through Pickering Museum Village by lantern light. That is 19 heritage buildings dating from 1810 to 1920, off Highway 7 between Brock Road and Westney Road at 2365 Concession Road 6. Further south, at Millennium Square, a second, separate ghost walk starts at the end of Liverpool Road in Nautical Village.

Most fall listings treat these as one activity. They are two programs at opposite ends of the city, with different seasons, different start times and very different capacity. The shortage in a Pickering October is the calendar and the seat count, and the stories are the easy part.

A Friday night holds about 24 people

Start with the seat count, because it sets everything else. The City's booking page lists Ghost Walk sessions at the Village from Thursday, October 8, running Thursdays through Saturdays to the end of the month. Each night has two sessions, one at 7:00 p.m. and one at 8:15 p.m., and each session runs an hour. When the page was checked in late September 2026, the sessions showed 12 openings apiece, and one October 22 session already showed 10.

Two sessions of 12 means a full Friday holds about 24 people across the whole evening. Compare that with Hallowe'en Fest at the same Village on October 24 and 25, which is a daytime, open-grounds event.

The tour is recommended for ages 12 and up. The listed price is around $25.52 a person, so a group of four adults is looking at roughly $100 before anyone picks a night. An earlier season's listing warned of gravel pathways and uneven ground, which is worth remembering when choosing shoes for a walk through orchard paths after dark.

The walk covers the museum's paranormal investigations, its staff stories and tragedies from Pickering's past. The program grew out of a 2021 visit by paranormal investigators and psychic mediums to the site. The museum has been running ghost walks since, and it lists the tour under its programs and events page.

Fridays add a second door

Fridays in October also carry Beyond the Village Veil: Spirit Seeking, where psychic mediums guide small groups through the same historic buildings. City Parent lists the October dates as the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. An earlier listing for the program noted limited spots and suggested adding a Ghost Walk before or after. That listing dates from last October, so confirm the pairing still applies.

The practical question is timing. The Ghost Walk sessions start at 7:00 and 8:15 p.m. The start time for the October Spirit Seeking sessions is not in the listings reviewed here, so compare it against the Ghost Walk slots before booking both on the same night.

The waterfront walk ends first

The second address is Millennium Square. The Waterfront Ghost Walk began as a 2023 pilot and starts at the end of Liverpool Road, finishing in the middle of Nautical Village. Its material comes from Frenchman's Bay. The pilot's coverage named the rum-running of bootleggers Rocco Perri and John Gogo during Prohibition, along with shipwrecks and the Marysburg Vortex, a stretch of Lake Ontario said to have swallowed more than 270 ships.

For 2026, a Durham events guide published in June lists the walk on Thursdays from July 2 through October 22 at 9:15 p.m. That is a single listing, and the City's booking page is the place to confirm it. Taking the listing as it stands, the waterfront walk closes for the year on October 22, nine days before the Village's Ghost Walk finishes.

It also leaves Thursdays as the one night both walks appear. On October 8, 15 and 22, the Village's 7:00 p.m. session ends at 8:00, and the waterfront tour starts at 9:15 after a drive south. The Friday and Saturday Village sessions have no waterfront counterpart in the 2026 listing.

October by date

Date Daytime Evening
Sat, Oct 3 Oktoberfest Market at the Village, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ghost Walk has not started
Thu, Oct 8, 15 None listed Village Ghost Walk at 7:00 and 8:15 p.m.; Waterfront Ghost Walk at 9:15 p.m. (listed)
Fri, Oct 9, 16, 23 None listed Village Ghost Walk at 7:00 and 8:15 p.m.; Spirit Seeking
Sat, Oct 17 Fall Fling at Millennium Square, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Village Ghost Walk at 7:00 and 8:15 p.m.
Thu, Oct 22 None listed Village Ghost Walk; last listed Waterfront Ghost Walk at 9:15 p.m.
Sat, Oct 24 Fall Fling at Millennium Square, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Hallowe'en Fest at the Village Check the booking page
Sun, Oct 25 Hallowe'en Fest at the Village None listed

The Oktoberfest Market on October 3 is a vendor-run event from Dragonfly Vendor Events by Sarah, now in its second year. Half the vendors sit inside the picnic shelter and half on the lawn. Its listing uses the Greenwood Road address and points visitors to Gate 2, so follow those signs rather than the main Concession Road address.

The Saturday that double-books itself

October 24 is the date to plan around. Fall Fling returns to Millennium Square that day for its second and final Saturday, with pumpkin painting, miniature train rides, Halloween costume contests, trick-or-treating, crafts and a local artisan market. Hallowe'en Fest opens at the Village the same day, with Halloween games, crafts, activities and treats, and staff in costume explaining the history of Halloween traditions.

The two run on the same day in different parts of Pickering. Hallowe'en Fest continues on Sunday, October 25, and Fall Fling does not, so Saturday goes to the waterfront and Sunday goes to the Village. City Parent lists Hallowe'en Fest admission at $10.30 for adults, $7.21 for seniors and $6.18 for children, so an adult ticket costs less than half the Ghost Walk. Confirm the current rates before going.

October 17 is the cleaner pairing. Fall Fling fills the daytime at Millennium Square, and the Village's Ghost Walk sessions fill the evening.

An order that respects the seat count

  1. Book the Ghost Walk sessions first. They are the only ticketed items here with a visible seat count, and Friday and Saturday sessions are the ones a group of 12 or fewer will be competing for.
  2. Add Spirit Seeking on a Friday only after comparing its start time against the Ghost Walk slot on the same night.
  3. Treat the Waterfront Ghost Walk as a Thursday plan with an October 22 deadline, and confirm the date on the City's page before committing.
  4. Pick between Fall Fling and Hallowe'en Fest on October 24, or split them across the weekend.
  5. Use October 3 for the Oktoberfest Market, since the Ghost Walk has not yet begun.

Sessions and times can change, and the museum can be reached at 905-683-8401.
